Airports - Strategy Realisation

Translation of a conceptual proposal into a delivered reality through the full life-cycle of business case, OJEU procurement (RFI, ITT, Contract) build, test and deploy.

  • Led the process mapping and gap analysis across the Operations landscape across the areas of AODB ( Airport Operational Database), ACDM ( Airport Collaborative Decision Making) and FIDS (Flight Information Display Systems).

  • Defined the solutions architecture for application integration, AODB, ACDM and FIDS,

  • Delivered hybrid-cloud based solutions

Utilities

Utilities - Strategy Realisation

Translated a 5 year strategic pipeline of service aspirations into a structured portfolio of budgeted, planned projects. 
We performed the program management and architecture functions for the active projects with responsibility for budgets, planning, recruitment, design and reporting.
Due to the nature of the proposed transformation, there was a significant senior stakeholder engagement and management alongside extensive communication with the business to create awareness and capture training requirements, as well as within the IT department for TOM development.

Banking

Banking - Divestment

Led the Infrastructure Design team creating 'off-host' infrastructure designs to underpin the target application platform for the proposed separation of a large UK based bank. 

The Infrastructure Design team consisted of architects working in a one-team / agile manner with representatives from the bank business, a 3rd party application team and technical SMEs.  Our responsibilities included the

  • creation of migration designs,

  • governance and quality assurance of the whole team’s designs,

  • management of milestone achievement and allocation of appropriate resources, and

  • creation and modification of design and migration patterns

Insurance

Insurance - Divestment

Initially engaged by the service provider responsible for the separation of the Insurance Business from the parent company and later moved to the Client side team.
The first traunch of work related to the leadership of a team of Technical and Application Architects through the As-IS environment discovery & documentation and design of the To-Be future infrastructure.
The second phase of work on the Client side was alongside the application migration lead to ensure migration success through the application testing and cutover migration plan and execution.

Data Centre Relocation

Data Centre Relocation - Private Co.

Solution Lead on a stalled Data Centre Consolidation project to relocate 300+ servers whilst performing a technology refresh across VMWare, storage, backup and core networking.

  • Responsible for key business stakeholder management

  • Ensured the to-be technical designs adhered to corporate standards and strategy.

  • Defined and assured migration patterns

  • Ensured the migration tasks aligned with migration patterns and were achievable in a timely fashion without risk of service outages.

  • Oversaw all key migration steps

End User Computing

End User Computing - Private Co

Led the Architecture and Service streams through the RFP and Contracting stages of a global procurement for End User Computing services. 


Led the requirements gathering for the specific needs of key business units including an array of regulated data handling arenas addressing

  • national and international contact centre populations,

  • PCI/DSS,

  • UK Government classification, and

  • North American security.

Public

Business Process Re-engineering - Public

Engaged to lead the recovery of Public Services contract with responsibility for all ICT related development and support issues. 

Led the creation and realisation of a Service Improvement Plan to address the contract action notices raised by the client. 


Our engagement resulted in:

  • Increased level of trust from directors enabling a reduction in the CxO updates from daily to weekly after 2 weeks and to monthly after 6 weeks.

  • KPI improvement in delivery from 0% to 85% in 6 weeks

  • Handover to support for the long-term operational support

Public & Private

Service Improvement

Several engagements looking at both change initiatives which were stalling and business as usual service where service quality was below SLA.
In such emotional circumstances we provide that area of calm that provides the space for us to collectively dissect the issues to get to the real root causes.  Then the definition of a roadmap to a better state can begin to provide the framework for the journey back to quality project / service delivery.
Whether we lead the recovery or that is managed in-house is entirely down to the client’s preference.
