DC Migration Complete

We have been engaged for just over a year to assist a SME with a relocation of their ICT estate to a CoLo facility.


Great News -- the equipment migrated and is running happily in the new premises.


Hiccups.

There were several months of delay due to a number of 3rd party issues including missing POs, missing network equipment and resource unavailability. All of these issues were outside of our control, and outside of the control of the primary client. The important factor was not to loose faith and to keep exploring solutions rather than focusing on blame.


Actual Move.

Issues presented themselves right up to the last minute with resource availability and familiarity which effected the on-the-day schedule. This served to highlight the flexibility of the core team and their desire to successfully complete.


Outcome.

All equipment was successfully migrated and tested over a weekend move with users experiencing no change in service levels when they restarted work on Monday morning.

Next steps are to build resilience with the enhanced capabilities of the new location
